Mr. Maxwell is an Executive Coach who established his practice in 1996. His concern for the impact organizational change has on the leadership, management, and staff of organizations led him to bring a coaching model to executive and management consulting with the aim of providing close support to the client making the changes demanded by a challenging and often turbulent environment.
Mr. Maxwell received an undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Health Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. For twenty years, he served hospitals as a member of the hospital administration, including ten years as the Administrator/President. With the dramatic changes that started in the 1980's, Mr. Maxwell participated in hospital mergers, acquisitions, and sales. In all three instances he worked closely with Board members, physicians, other executives, and employees as organizational ownership and structures were transformed in response to a fast changing environment.
In the ten years he has been coaching, Mr. Maxwell has served not only the health care field, but companies in the fields of software development, pharmaceuticals, commercial distribution, and public accounting.
He is a graduate of CoachU and served on their faculty as a teleclass leader for six years. He is also a faculty member with the Duke University affiliated Business Coach Institute. He is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. He is also certified in the use and interpretation of the DISC Behavioral Style assessment, the Personal Interests, Attitudes and ValuesT assessment, the Attribute IndexT, and the TriMetrixT family of assessments.
